The Georgia Occupational Award of Leadership
The Georgia Occupational Award of Leadership (GOAL) recognizes and rewards excellence among students enrolled in postsecondary technical colleges in the state of Georgia. Several statewide sponsors from business/industry and education help Georgia’s Technical College System sponsor the GOAL program. Finalists are selected from each technical college and compete for a grand prize in an annual competition held in Atlanta.
GOAL nominees are rewarded with recognition, leadership training, and donated gifts. The GOAL winner from Southern Crescent Technical College is held in high esteem and is called upon to represent the school at various civic and community events.

National Technical Honor Society (NTHS)
National Technical Honor Society is a national, nonprofit organization established to honor excellence in work-force education programs and majors. An invitation letter of membership will be provided to candidates by the NTHS advisors.
The requirements for membership in the NTHS Chapter at Southern Crescent Technical College are below:
- Must be a diploma or degree seeking student
- Must have a cumulative academic average of 3.75 or higher
Candidates will receive a recognition letter and will be recognized during the graduation ceremony by the College’s approved designated honorary regalia. This process will include a membership fee paid by the NTHS Candidate.
If you have received an invitation letter of membership you can apply online using the NTHS Application.
- Your invitation letter of membership will provide you with an access code needed to complete the application.
- Print and complete the application and the NTHS Charge Form, and take the completed form to the business office to pay your one-time membership fee of $30.

President’s List
Students that take 12 or more credit hours and earn a 4.0 grade point average are honored each semester by being named to the President’s List. These students are invited by President of the College to attend a special ceremony during Spring and Fall Terms.
Dean’s List
Students that take 12 or more credit hours and earn a 3.50 grade point average or higher are honored each semester by being named to the Dean’s List.
