This is what we do:

Special Services provides assurances that individuals who are members of Special Populations will be provided with equal access to recruitment, enrollment, career services activities and the full range of technical education programs and activities.

Special Populations Students are:

  • Individuals with Disabilities
  • Individuals from Economically Disadvantaged Families, including Low-income Youth and Adults (Receiving PELL, WIOA, TANF, Vocational Rehabilitation, ETC)
  • Individuals Preparing for Non-traditional Fields (A student in a non-traditional program who has chosen to enter training for a field that is dominated by persons of the opposite sex, such as a male in nursing or a female in automotive technology)
  • Single Parent, including Single Pregnant Women (A person who has primary or joint custody of a dependent child. May be divorced, widowed, legally separated, never married, or a person who is single and pregnant.)
  • Out-Of-Workforce Individuals (A person who has not been employed outside of the home, recently suffered loss of income, or recently lost a spouse/partner)
  • English Learners (Primary language is not English or limited ability to write or understand English)
  • Homeless Individuals
  • Youth Who Are In or Have Aged out of the Foster Care System
  • Youth with Parents on Active Duty in the Armed Forces

    Get InclusiveAs part of our federal compliance mandate to address Title IX and comprehensive prevention efforts for college students Southern Crescent Technical College has partnered with Get Inclusive to present the course Voices for Change to all students.Voices for Change focuses on: Consent and Sexual Violence (Title IX), Alcohol and Other Drugs, and Hazing and Intimidation. Research says that people learn better when they take time to reflect on what they’re learning, Get Inclusive designed this course to give you time to apply the concepts to your own life and consider the effects of certain behaviors on you and those around you.Student Review: Voices for ChangeAll survey responses are confidential; the school will only receive information about the student body as a whole and will never see any individual student’s answers.
